Here are some other resources that we have found that you may want to investigate further.

Resources for older people with disabilities
One company supplying a variety of resources for activities with older people is Winslow. See their catalogue on line at www.winslow-cat.com/cgi-bin/winslow.storefront. They sell reminiscence material including videos, scrap books, picture cards, CD's of classic hits of the 30's, 40's and 50's, and collections of old fashioned toys and household objects. They also sell other resources including items for sensory stimulation and physical exercise.

Bean Bags
Bean bags can encourage some people with dementia to take part in simple physical activity.  These bags can be hand made, around 6 inches square, lightly filled with dried beans and can be made using a range of colourful and attractive fabrics. The bean bags can be used for throwing games to help exercise muscles and joints.

Sensory stimulation resources
A range of special equipment is available  to provide sensory experiences for those who can no longer enjoy more complex media. They are aimed at both children and adults with special needs and some are available through TFH UK in Worcestershire. www.tfhuk.com
