The Reader Organisation

The Reader Organisation is a national charity dedicated to bringing about a Reading Revolution - we are making it possible for people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to enjoy and engage with books. Their innovative project ‘Get Into Reading’ offers weekly read aloud reading groups for people across our communities, including people in care homes and hospitals, as well as libraries, schools, hostels and many other locations – to improve wellbeing and extend reading for pleasure. The Parkinson's Disease Society

Celebrating the creativity of people with Parkinson's

Launched by the Parkinson's Disease Society and the Peake family in 2002, the Mervyn Peake Awards celebrate the creative achievements of people with Parkinson's in art, poetry and photography.

The awards are held in memory of the late illustrator, writer and poet Mervyn Peake (1911-1968), who developed Parkinson's in later life.

The Museum of Modern Art in New York

Alzheimer's Project 

The Museum of Modern Art is one of the first museums in the country to offer programs to make its collection and special exhibitions accessible to people with Alzheimer's disease and their caregivers. In 2006, the Museum launched Meet Me at MoMA, an educational program specifically designed for people with Alzheimer's disease. This monthly program features interactive tours of the Museum's renowned collection of modern art and its special exhibitions for individuals in the early and middle stages of the disease, along with their family members and caregivers.
