These books have been brilliantly thought out and I’m sure could help other families in our situation
When Dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer's 13 years ago we were all
devastated. To see such an intelligent and articulate man become unable
to string a sentence together was just heartbreaking. Dad's response (to
the Pictures to Share books) was amazing. Usually he doesn't say
anything but when we went through the 'In the Garden' book, he was
immediately responsive. Suddenly he read out the words – my sister and I
were astounded, we couldn't remember the last time he'd read something
aloud.

At
a time when all the things you knew and shared together are fading or
gone completely, these books offer a point of connection. I can’t state
enough what a wonderful resource these books offer to those with
Alzheimer’s or Dementia and their carers.

- "I use these books every time I visit my aunt in a care home. She has advanced dementia and can no longer speak. However she comes alive when I show her the books. She touches the pictures and tries to join in the songs. She laughs at photos and some pictures make her cry - but they do elicit a reaction when usually there is none. Thank you for your books."
- "Visiting my stepmother is a difficult responsibility as I am the only person who visits her. Conversations and questions are repeated over and over making visits difficult. These books have provided a diversion. Turning a page turns her mind to something new rather than dwelling on something and repeating and referring to it."
- "My mum and her friend, both with dementia thoroughly enjoyed sharing the books. These books prompt memories and produce much laughter. I am so pleased I ordered these stunning books."
- "My mum enjoyed the book from the moment she opened it. I would recommend this book without hesitation."
- "My aunt found conversation very difficult. These books stimulated an emotional response and long buried memories. She talked in more coherent sentences than she had for months. Thank you."
- "I just wanted to say thank you. My mum has dementia, when I visited her with my great niece, I got the books out. It was lovely to see them together. Both parties enjoyed a shared experience and it was very important as they engaged with each other."
- "Every visit with my father we read The Countryside. It makes us laugh and inspires songs. I have just bought other titles, thank you."
- "My mother has Alzheimer's and
has been in residential care for three years. Her response to the books was
amazing. We sat together on the settee and Mum turned the pages with great
interest. In her limited way she made comments and expressions, even picking
out the occasional word. Her overall mood during this session, which lasted
half an hour, was of joy and laughter. It not only brought joy to her, but also
to me and my father."
- "The images are delightful. My Mother is entranced by the colours and the quotations, she likes stroking the pages. These books have been a valuable resource."
