In 2005 Helen Bate set up Pictures to Share as a Social Enterprise. She had seen how the problems of dementia affect the ability of people to enjoy traditional media and felt there was a huge gap in the resources that are provided. Following extensive research and development, she published the first three titles with the support of charitable sponsors. These were such a success that she was able to obtain major funding and support from the Andrews Charitable Trust to go on and develop the organisation to the point that is it at today.
